Description: Volunteer Trail Day!
Location: Clinch River Valley State Park
Clinch River Valley State Park currently has 0.0 miles of trail, let's change that together!
This volunteer project aims to add a third to half a mile of trail here in Kyles Ford. Volunteering is one of the best ways to give back to your parks, and it is even more special that it is the park's first trail.
Our goal is to widen the trail to around 3 feet throughout the hike, level the ground with a downslope to negate runoff damage, and get as far as we can in the 4 hours of work. We will be using various tools to remove plants, rocks, roots, dirt and other organic material from the trail.
Items provided: Loppers, shovels, McLeods, Pulaskis, Maddocks, fire rakes, rogue hoes.
Items to bring: Working clothes and gloves, close toe shoes, water and snacks.
*If willing, and able, feel free to bring personal tools*
We will meet at the visitor center around 9:45 AM, begin our work at 10:00 AM, and finish at 2:00 PM.
In case of inclement weather, our back up day will be the following Saturday, November 21st during the same time frame. Emails will be sent out the night before in the event the weather does not cooperate.
We look forward to working with you!
