Girl Scouts Love State Parks 2026
Join us at Pickwick Landing State Park for another fun weekend of building stewardship and enjoying the outdoors with Girl Scouts Love State Parks! We have a variety of activities and events planned. Join a Park Ranger or TN Naturalist for a scheduled program or craft your own adventure with our self-led activities! Materials for self-guided activities will be available at the Park Office between Friday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 13, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. All programs are free unless otherwise noted in the program description. Self-Guided Activities
The Great Privet Pull - Volunteer Event
Help us remove this invasive species from around the park! Loppers, gardening shears, and gardening gloves will be available at the Park Office. Please return any tools you borrow to the Park Office no later than 4:30 PM. Volunteer Liability Wavers can be completed at the Park Office or online here: Volunteer Registration
Pick Up America Challenge - Volunteer Event
Help us #PickUpAmerica and keep our park and beaches clean and beautiful! Trash grabbers, trash bags, and disposable gloves will be available at the Park Office. For some added fun and friendly competition, we'll be hosting trash weigh-ins at 4:30 PM at the Park Office each day. The scout or troop with the most trash each day will be awarded a prize! Pickwick Scavenger Hunt
Explore the park and learn about the natural and cultural resources we preserve and protect at Pickwick Landing! This is a self-guided activity; divide your crew into teams or compete solo! Scavenger hunt instructions are available at the Park Office. Turn in your completed and correct scavenger hunt sheet by 4:30pm to win a prize!

Stargazing (8pm - 9pm)
Come and explore the night sky using binoculars and spotting scopes!
Saturday, Sept. 12
Birding Bonanza (9am - 10am)
Join park staff to create pinecone bird feeders and see what birds we can attract!
Creek Exploration - No Creek Required! (10:30am - 11:30am)
Come and search for signs of a healthy stream!
Ancient Survivors: Pickwick Landing's Living Fossils (1pm - 2pm)
Discover some of the plants, animals, and insects that have existed with little change since the prehistoric times!
Hungry Hunters: Snakes and Raptors of Pickwick (2pm - 3pm)
Learn about some of our native reptiles and raptors while they eat their dinner!
Sunday, Sept. 13
Pollinator Field Painting (9am - 10am)
Join park staff at the pollinator fields for watercolor art!
